Ok, so you have found out my secret love. Gardening!!
My Roses here, Daylilies below. My daylilies are my pride,
but this year I attempted roses too. I have purchased my
daylilies from Virginia and North Carolina, South Carolina and
many, many all over Georgia (north, south, east and west),
especially locally and in the Statesboro area.
Most of mine have names and I know them, I just don't choose
to keep up with their names, so I bury the tags with the
roots.
Every morning my husband and I have coffee on the patio and if time permits
I photograph the day's newest openings, especially on the
weekends as the sun comes out and they open fully.

My Roses are just beginning to bloom, the colors are white,
cream, peach, rose, red, copper, yellow, lavender and orange
and the variegated. Temperamental
souls they are, daylilies sure are easier. Daylily beds
everywhere I find an extra space. Even Drexel's shop has
fallen victim to the newest bed down the side, and now my
neighbor has graciously donated her fence row, bless her
heart. This year 3 new
beds were put in and over 100 more plants added. We're tired!
DAYLILIES
This is the third year (fourth summer) I have had daylilies. I
have over 300 and at least 100 varieties. This year I hope to
grow some of the seeds I have "mated" and collected. Who knows
what they will look like, but what fun the anticipation! So
many of them look similar but each is different in its own way
and all are beautiful. Matthew sure knew what he was talking
about when he said "Consider the lilies of the
field....Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of
these."

NOW FOR '04 - My new passion this year is for the
Spacecoast cultivators, since I can only afford a few of them,
I am planning to try my hand at the seeds I grow cross
breading them with each other some of my other favorites. I
added a few new ones from some of our vacations: Enjoy!

Then I decided to try my hand at Iris growing, I was pretty
proud of that too.

Look at what Deeann did with the antlers from Doug's dad's
house.
